“A Thing of Beauty” accepted by The Storyteller Series podcast

My body horror story A Thing of Beauty has been accepted by The Storyteller Series podcast for a full-cast audio production. It’s a story about beauty, vengeance, and fleshcrafting, coming to you in October.

The Storyteller Series did an amazing job with my sci-fi horror story The Door is Open last October, so I can’t wait to hear what they do with A Thing of Beauty.

Two stories accepted by Wicked Shadow Press

My horror story Things Are Looking Up has been accepted by Wicked Shadow Press for their upcoming anthology, RISE: Anthology of the Undead. After a man and his wife are in a fatal car accident, the man decides he will do anything to see his wife one more time … even if he has to dig.

In addition, Wicked Shadow Press has accepted my historical horror story Everything As It Was for their next (still unannounced) anthology.

Nine drabbles accepted into the Nom Nom Halloween anthology

Nine of my horror drabbles have been accepted into the Nom Nom Halloween drabble anthology by Black Hare Press. The first six are originals; the other three are reprints.

  • Sharp Candy. Look before you eat.
  • Fresh Sushi. They taste best raw.
  • Under Leaves. Bury me next.
  • What Remains? Fucked around. Found out.
  • Sending Hugs. Never look back.
  • Practical Joke. You’ll die laughing.
  • The Angel. Just like her mother.
  • Curiosity Kills. Look what the cat dragged in.
  • Third Eye. You can only keep two.

And, yes, all the stories are required to have two-word titles.

“He Has His Father’s Eyes” accepted by Dark Moments

My horror drabble He Has His Father’s Eyes has been accepted into next month’s Dark Moments by Black Hare Press, for their Nephilim theme. It’s hard to believe, but this is my 100th acceptance since I started writing short fiction just 2 1/2 years ago. My very first acceptance was also a drabble with Black Hare Press (In the Water, in the Ancients anthology), so it’s fitting that my 100th is too.

“They Say Crows Can Remember Faces” accepted by Scare You To Sleep

My short horror story They Say Crows Can Remember Faces has been accepted by the Scare You To Sleep podcast. I recently discovered the show via their incredible production of Caleb Stephens’ You Have To Let Him Burn and it instantly became one of my favorite horror podcasts. This is also one of my favorite stories, so I can’t wait to hear what Shelby does with it.
